Designed by college students from BITS Pilani Goa Campus, the aim of our project is to design and build a 5-m aperture radio telescope with minimal cost and apply new automation as well as computational techniques.

Apart from learning and applying the concepts of mechanical engineering, data acquisition and processing, electronic design and project management, we aim to be able to observe and analyze novel radio data like those of solar observation and tracking of celestial objects and develop galaxy rotation curves. Gradually after having tested the telescope we would move on to more critical projects like pulsar timing array, binary pulsar observations etc

The radio telescope constructed shall support an active interest and engagement in radio astronomy and astrophysics on campus. This would also serve as the first Radio Telescope of Goa.
